Christmas etc.

The tradition in our family goes as follows:
1) I take a picture of the gifts Santa left for us after the kids have woken up (I made them sleep in our room this year...I caught Chase trying to escape at 1:00 in the morn. to see if Santa came)...

and 2) I take a picture of the kids before they see if Santa came. They claim they hate this...and so does Kirk. Kirk thinks the kids should be able to go out into the family room to see if Santa came BEFORE we wake up. Why keep them from peeking you ask? Well, b/c then the parents (especially the mom who has worked so hard to make their kids Christmas so special) miss out on their first reaction to what Santa left. And, you run the risk of the kiddies opening up some of the gifts.

Faith and her American Girl Doll...changing her earrings.

Chase playing w/his DS. His cousins got them too. They've been nonstop "DSing" it since Christmas. May he enjoy his limitless play until school starts.

When Ty and Crew woke up, they were surprised to see new toys to play with.

Kirk performing an operation in order to detach a toy from it's packaging.

The babies' favorite gift...Fruit Loops.

Chase schooling my sis. Tara on Bakugans.

If you ever have an old cell phone you're not using, let us know. They seem to be a big hit.

Our biggest Christmas gift, Kingston. He's an Arabian colt. He's a pretty chestnut color...a bit muddy here. We're able to keep him at my parents' place.

Faith feeding Kingston a carrot. She's in love!

Kirk and Kingston bonding. Kirk's even more in love!

Faith bought a new hat with her Christmas money. She wanted to take a picture w/me...but was a bit sad here b/c she didn't want Kirk and I to leave to go out for our anniversary...

Our 11th anniversary on Dec. 30. Feels like our 5th!

That's so funny that you take a picture of the stuff santa leaves too. I guess mom must have done that. And bug about Kirk wanting the kids to be able to see their what santa brought w/out you guys. Ross thinks the same thing. Not cool. Looks like the kids must have pretty good this year!

I still don't get that whole Bakugan thing. Also, you're in luck, I have another old cell phone you can have.

Loved the pictures. Ava had that little animal choo choo train too. It was really cute. Santa brought an American doll and American baby to our house too. And the twins are so adorable. Getting big. Can't you stop time??? And now you're the proud owners of a horse? How fun. Happy Anniversary. You look incredible. I've said it before but you're the most beautiful person I know.

Looks like Santa was busy this year! That is so fun that you have a horse. How did that come about? Seem like a long ride from the North Pole.

I love your traditions and I totally agree, Mrs. Claus needs to SEE the kids appreciation. I need that payoff.

You look so beautiful. How can a mother of twins look that good in jeans?!?

Yehaa and Happy Anniversary! I can't believe it's been that long - but can't imagine our Kirky without you. Love you!

I agree with your pictures-before-peeking theory! We usually try to take a picture of all the kids lined up, going crazy having to wait and see what Santa brought. He he. I love it! Looks like you guys had a great time.

Wow, a horse! I grew up with horses and loved having them. My girls got American Girls last year and this year. They love playing with them. We'll have their cousins over (who also have them) for American Girl sleepover parties. They do hair, change outfits and have so much fun with their dolls. They also each got a DS last year. I was a little worried to get them, but they love to chat and play hide and seek with their friends and they are great for traveling. Anyway, looks like Santa picked some fun stuff for your kids. What a happy Christmas. Your little ones are so cute!
